Into the Wrestling Vault: 5/12/10 Edition

Both Johnny C and I have made our hatred and dismay over the Linda McMahon induced PG-Era and overall state of wrestling well known. We firmly believe that wrestling was far better in the 90's and early 2000's. In fact, even the mid 2000's are much better than the horseshit that is shoved down our throats these days. Consequently, it's no surprise that both John and I have burned countless number of hours looking up old matches, and promos on Youtube, Daily Motion, and the dozens of other websites which host wrestling videos. Now that we have turned ourselves into fancy men (with our own blog) we figured to turn all those wasted hours into blog posts. So join us as we delve into the Wrestling Vault to relive our favorite videos.

This is kind of breaking our own rules of posting stuff which is later than 2005 or so, but since Randy Orton and Edge seems to be the major feud on Raw as of right now, I figured it would be a good time to post the video of their wonderful match from Raw a couple of years ago. This match marked the ending of the very short Rated RKO Era on Raw. The match was supposed to originally take place in London, but then the Jizzbucket known as Randy Orton decided to trash his hotel room during the European tour, and he was sent home to the US. In it's place we get to see the overrated John Cena vs Shawn Michaels hour long match on Raw. However, after Backlash Randy Orton and Edge did end up having their feud blowing match, and it was a very good one. I think this match is a pretty good indicator of what to expect form these two at Over the Limit. At the time of this match, both these guys were heels so their story of one upmanship and who could outheel the other was interesting to see. Now that they are both tweeners (though Orton leans toward face while Edge is more the heel) I still, think their offense and story of the match will be very similar, which is why I thought it would be a good idea to post this match.
